ABOUT BINKIES + NOSEPRINTS
A walk in the park, an afternoon at the sculpture garden, a family breakfast or bedtime rituals at home. These are simple moments that can create lasting memories and reach beyond our time. I help to record genuine, {everyday stories} for you to cherish and share with loved ones.
As a mom of three little ones {binkies} and three furrier ones {noseprints}, I am fascinated by the spontaneity of children and awed by their ability to bring a family together. Trained as an architect, I hope to share an {unique photographic perspective} on childhood and family that is modern and real.
MY STORY
After many wonderful years in the field of architecture, designing large-scale commercial and healthcare projects, I decided to take a sabbatical from my career when our first child was born. Two years later, our twins arrived. Life was wonderfully full—with three little ones in diapers and three mischievous hounds keeping us on our toes!
Once the children started school, I found myself looking for a new challenge—one that would allow me to work from home while creating a schedule that worked for our family. Photography had always been an interest of mine, but I had never seriously considered it as a career.
My background in architecture gave me a strong foundation in design, composition, and visual storytelling, but I am largely self-taught as a photographer. On a whim, I entered a photography contest and won a spot at a photography workshop for women. That workshop changed my life. I met a wonderful group of like-minded women who, like me, were searching for a meaningful balance between work and family. It was there that I found the inspiration and confidence to start my own photography business.
My three children and three hounds have always been my greatest sources of inspiration. They taught me to look for—and capture—the genuine, unscripted moments that make up everyday life. And so, the name BINKIES + NOSEPRINTSwas born: BINKIES for the kids and NOSEPRINTS for the dogs.
